Join us for a fun, hands-on Purim experience designed for young professionals (20s, 30s, and 40s)! 🎉

We’re putting a savory twist on Hamantaschen (think calzones!) with a variety of delicious fillings, plus salad, drinks, and sides. While they bake, we’ll dive into the 4 Mitzvot of Purim and explore the Book of Esther—including a look at the actual Megillah! 📜

Come for the good food, stay for the great company and meaningful conversation. Whether you’re new to Purim or it’s your favorite holiday, you won’t want to miss this!

What to Expect

February Shabbat Dinner with MJCBY: Mishpatim the laws of the Torah

Jewish Young Community (JYC) – New Jersey, together with the Morristown Jewish Center, extends a heartfelt invitation to our February Shabbat Dinner.

An Evening of community and learning

Date: Friday, February 21

6:15PM: Shabbat Service – Come join us for our Shabbat service where we will learn about Mishpatim, the part of Exodus that discusses the laws passed down to Moses in Mount Sinai.

7:15PM: Dinner – A fantastic meal curated by Cantor Shana, to allow us to come together.

This event is specially designed for young adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s eager to connect more deeply with Jewish heritage.

Fostering Connections and Celebrating Community

Join us as we learn about Mishpatim, the laws of the Torah. It will help us bond as a community by understanding the laws that were passed to Moses and the significance it had on us. This includes how we should treat each other and the Kosher dietary rules.

This special Shabbat dinner is more than a meal; it’s a chance to forge meaningful connections, celebrate our shared heritage, and contribute to a vibrant, caring community. Your presence helps weave the fabric of a strong, inclusive future.

Key Details for a Meaningful Evening

Location: Morristown Jewish Center, 177 Speedwell Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960.

Additional Parking: Available along Sussex Ave and in the municipal lot at 21 Sussex Ave.

Registration: Complimentary for the first 30 sign-ups; $18 thereafter. RSVP by February 19, 2025, to ensure a spot.

Contribution: Guests are welcome to bring kosher wine or beer to share

Join fellow Jewish Young Professionals between 21-39ish years of age for an evening at Morristown Jewish Center in Morris County as we celebrate Parshat BO and have a unique Shabbat dinner inspired by the flavors of Shabbat. Whether you’re a seasoned Shabbat attendee or joining us for the first time, this evening promises to be filled with delicious food, meaningful connection, and a sense of gratitude.

Evening Schedule:

6:15 PM

– Shabbat Services: Feel free to stay for the Shabbat service. It’s a chance to connect spiritually and reflect on the past week.

7:15 PM

– Shabbat Dinner: After services, we’ll gather around the table for a beautiful meal catered by Cantor Shana, featuring classic Shabbat dishes, and other comfort foods.

What Guests Can Expect:

Warm Community Atmosphere:

This is a space for everyone—whether you’re new to Shabbat or it’s a weekly tradition, you’ll feel right at home.

Young Professionals Focus:

This is a chance for young professionals in their 20s and 30s to join and connect.

Inclusive Environment:

Whether you’re a seasoned Shabbat attendee or joining us for the first time, this evening promises to be filled with delicious food, meaningful connection, and a sense of gratitude.

Evening Schedule:

  • 6:30 PM – Shabbat Dinner: We’ll gather around the table for a beautiful meal catered by Classical Caterers, featuring classic Thanksgiving dishes with a Jewish twist—think roasted turkey, stuffing, seasonal vegetables, and other comfort foods.
  • 7:30 PM – Shabbat Services: After dinner, feel free to stay for the Shabbat service. It’s a chance to connect spiritually and reflect on the past week.

What Guests Can Expect:

  • Warm Community Atmosphere: This is a space for everyone—whether you’re new to Shabbat or it’s a weekly tradition, you’ll feel right at home.
  • Thanksgiving-Inspired Menu: Enjoy a kosher, Thanksgiving-style meal that brings together the best of both worlds—Shabbat and Thanksgiving!
