Event Care, Access & Belonging

21 — COMING SOLO IS NORMAL

Share your plan with someone you trust—without sharing it with JYC

Pick an event and a personal check-in time. Your browser prepares a message or calendar reminder for you. The friend’s details, the message, and whether you checked in are never sent to or monitored by JYC.

Nothing is sent until you choose a sharing app. JYC receives no friend contact information.

TIER 2 · SHARE-ONLY

What this is—and is not

  • A private prompt you control.
  • Not a JYC check-in, escort, tracking, or emergency-response service.
  • If you miss your personal check-in, your friend—not JYC—decides what to do.
  • For immediate danger, call 911 or contact on-site venue staff.

22 — HELP US PLAN WITH YOU

Tell us what would make the event more accessible

You do not need to disclose a diagnosis. Nathan Vaisbort reviews requests and aims to respond within 2 business days. Venue, food-service, timing, and budget limits vary; JYC will discuss what is feasible and will not promise an accommodation before confirming it.

What should the event team consider? Select any that apply.

Contact and request details are encrypted in WordPress, access is restricted to administrators, email alerts contain no submitted details, and the record is scheduled for deletion after 45 days. Advance notice helps, but JYC will consider walk-in requests when possible.

27 — A HUMAN, NOT A CHATBOT

Ask for time with a rabbi, mentor, or trusted community person

This form is not monitored continuously and is not an emergency or crisis service. If anyone may be in immediate danger, call 911. For emotional distress, suicidal thoughts, or a substance-use crisis, call or text 988 or use the 988 Lifeline.
TIER 3 · HUMAN REVIEW

Clear expectations

  • Primary owner: Nathan Vaisbort
  • Backup coverage: MJCBY rabbinic staff member designated for weekly backup coverage
  • Response target: 2 business days.
  • Only administrators can open the encrypted submission.
  • Email alerts contain only a record number.
  • The reviewer must complete safety, confidentiality-limit, and reporting-duty checks before closing the record.
  • Records are scheduled for deletion after 60 days.

This is pastoral routing and community support—not therapy, medical care, legal advice, or a guarantee that a particular rabbi or mentor is available.
