13 — YOUR FACE, YOUR CHOICE
Be in the moment—not automatically in the post
JYC does not use facial recognition, face matching, automated opt-out-list matching, or automatic publication. Photo choices are handled by people before, during, and after an event.
I’m comfortable being photographed
You may still ask a photographer to skip a specific moment or request removal later.
Please check before a close-up
Tell check-in staff. JYC will use the event’s visible marker or record the preference on the photographer’s brief.
Keep me out of published photos
Tell check-in staff and use a designated photo-free area when available. Opting out never changes your access to the event.
What photographers and editors must do
- Receive the event’s photo-choice brief and identify photo-free zones or markers before shooting.
- Ask before close-ups when a preference is unclear and avoid sensitive conversations, private-home details, minors, or safety information.
- Manually review every image and caption before publication; no auto-tagging or biometric matching.
- Use only the consented attribution and source. Never assume an Instagram tag equals permission to republish.
- Escalate uncertainty to Nathan Vaisbort or the event lead and leave the image unpublished.
Fast removal without proving why
If a JYC-controlled post or photo makes you uncomfortable, send the private request below. You do not need to explain a sensitive reason or upload a copy of your face. JYC’s acknowledgment goal is one business day.
