Join hosts Jessica Kiedes and Paula, Jewish Young Community (JYC) New Jersey and Morristown Jewish Center for an evening of community, prayer, tradition and a home-cooked meal by Cantor Shana. Jewish young adults ages 21–39ish, young professionals and graduate students are welcome. Come solo or bring a friend; no membership or prior Shabbat experience is required.

Come comfortably dressed. Each guest should request a seat individually. You are welcome to bring kosher wine or beer to share.

Why this night exists

A local table can become a local community.

JYC created this dinner as a low-pressure first stop for Jewish adults ages 21–39 in Morris County—no membership, no dues and no assumed level of Shabbat experience.

The evening

Two acts. One shared table.

Service & Shabbat welcome

Begin together at 6:15 PM with the Shabbat service at Morristown Jewish Center. Share tradition and a welcoming start to the evening.

Dinner & conversation

Dinner begins at 7:15 PM, with a home-cooked meal by Cantor Shana and time to get to know one another. The evening concludes at 9:00 PM.

Jewish adults ages 21–39 are welcome. New to the area, returning after years or brand-new to Shabbat? You belong at the table.

Venue & arrival

Morristown Jewish Center is at 177 Speedwell Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960, between the Fire Department and Marty’s Reliable Cycle. A guard will direct you to the door; the event is upstairs.

Dinner notes

The listing marks the meal kosher, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. Include allergies in your RSVP so the hosts can confirm what is possible.

Coming alone

Completely normal. Ask Jessica or Paula for an introduction when you arrive.
